Feng Nian

Feng Nian Chinese Cuisine in Sausalito is one of the best authentic places outside of Beijing. The food is always very good and the service presentation is reminiscent of the days of the Emperor. Lunch time is always popular and if you can't make it for dinner they will bring it to you as long as you are in Southern Marin. My favorite dishes are Pot Stickers, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Barbecue Ribs, Combination Chow Fun, General Chow Chicken, Spicy Basil Sesame Crispy Beef, Won Ton Soup, Moo Shu Pork, Chicken & Broccoli Crispy Noodle... Obviously it is a must to bring some home with you. When you drop by, say "Hi!" to my good friend Jack, his hospitality is unsurpassed.

Hunan First

Today I found myself at Hunan First in the Bon Aire Shopping Center. It has been there for quite a while. It is a regular lunchtime spot for several real estate agents including myself. They have reasonably priced lunch specials and the service is quick. My Favorites are: Wor Won Ton Soup, Chicken and Corn Soup, Pot Stickers, Barbeque Pork Chow Fun, Tomato Beef Chow Mein, Chef's Special Fried Rice, Crispy Szechuan Beef, Sweet and Sour Pork, Broccoli Beef and Beef with Oyster Sauce.

Izzy's Steaks and Chops

Checked out Izzy's for Monday Night Football last night. Good set up with many easily viewed flat screen TVs and they actually had the sound on. If you arraive before 6 there are some good happy hour specials on the bar menu. The mini burgers were quite tasty. Just ask the friendy bartender, John, and he will hook you up.

For dinner John suggested their signature Hanger Steak with choice of 2 sides. Of counse one choice had to be the Izzy Potatoes. Fabulous meal and good company. MGDs for $3.50. for directions and to see more, visit their website at http://www.izzysrestaurant.com/

M&G Burgers

M&G Burgers in Larkspur is fast becoming the locals hangout for people of all ages. A good selection of burgers, old fashion fries and onion rings and chocolate shakes that are reason alone to stop by. My Spirit Quest group has unanimously chosen M&Gs as our food stop before our meetings.

Marty's Marin Restaurant Guide

Marin County has some excellent restaurants. Having been a resident of Marin since 1965, I have tried to try them all. In case I miss one or two, please let me know your thoughts.

Marin Joes- is located in Corte Madera just off the freeway. It has been around since 1953 and I have been going there ever since I can remember. There are many good things to try, just remember to bring your appetite. My favorites are; cheeseburger, Spencer rib eye smothered in mushrooms, macaroni with porcini mushroom sauce, minestrone soup, club sandwich, chicken breast cacciatore, pork chops with pork chop sauce, special spinach, Caesar salad, surf and turf, tomatoes with mozzarella and vinaigrette and of course only on Thursdays... Corn Beef and Cabbage. You can never go wrong if you order any of these. I haven't in the 40+ years of going there.
